A New Edit Button Rolls Out on Twitter with a Limit of Five Times within 30 Minutes
Last week, Twitter had made an announcement that it has been operating to roll out an edit button on the micro-blogging site. The feature would initially be available to the Twitter Blue subscribers in selected countries before being released widely. This much-awaited new edit feature would enable users to go back and edit their tweets within 30 minutes. However, Twitter was going to limit users to make only five edits in that particular period. This new feature might be added by the social media giant to prevent users from exploring the new edit feature.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The feature would be available to Twitter Blue subscribers in selected countries
- New edit button permit users to edit their tweets for just 5 times within 30 minutes
- The edited tweets would be marked with an icon, label, and timestamp
Twitter had purposefully confirmed that the new edit button can permit users to edit their tweets for only five times within a time frame of just 30 minutes. During this period, they would correct typos, upload media files, and edit feature.
Further, the report had mentioned that the edit buttons were going to be initially offered to Twitter Blue subscribers in New Zealand. Twitter has been observing the user behavior with this new feature. It has been seemingly thinking that whether the edit limit shall be modified within the set period.
Once it had ironed out these kinks, Twitter would unleash this feature for Twitter Blue users in Australia, Canada, and the US. There were concerns that the edit feature may be used to spread political information or crypto scams. However, these used cases would only be studied once the feature would be available to a wider user base.
Twitter disclosed certain details regarding the edit button last week. Therefore, it has been confirmed that an edited tweet would be marked with an icon, label, and timestamp to point out that it has been tweaked. Users would be able to check the edit history of the tweet with the original post. Twitter had undraped the undo feature that would enables users to cancel a tweet in thirty seconds of clicking on the send button.
